PPM: the biocide

Plant preservative mixture the best biocide for your plant culture
Plant preservative mixture

What is Plant preservative mixture?

Plant preservative mixture, also known as PPM is a robust broad-spectrum biocide that is created to be be used in plant cultures. The PPM is autoclavable, so it is imposible to contaminate the medium using it. The principle of PPM is to block key enzymes in the Krebs cycle and in the Electron Transport Chain so it is not likely to create resistant mutants.

PPM could also be used as bio-static compound as a preventative measure.  If diluted with plant growth media it would be effective as a micro-biocide against non-human health pathogenic organisms component of liquid or semi-solid plant culture media.

Why should you choose the plant preserve mixture?

  • Autoclavable
  • Cheaper than antibioitics
  • effective against human contact , waterborne, airborne and endogenous contamination
  • PPM targets and inhibits multiple enzymes, the formation of resistant mutants towards PPM is unlikely.
  • Heat-stable
  • Small doses are needed: 0.5 – 2 ml/l

A plant protection product for its cell culture of plants that is a fungicide and biocide. Plant preserve mixture will protect your plant cell culture. PPM is effective against microorganisms in the air, in water and against endogenous contamination. Plant preserve mixture is available in different sizes.

PPM affects key enzymes in the Krebs cycle and the electron transport chain. Depending on the dose and the level of contamination, Plant preserve mixture is a very effective plant protection product. If diluted with plant growth media, PPM is effective as a microbicide.

What sizes it is available?

How to store it?

Store Plant preserve mixture at 4 °C, in a frigde. Do not store it at temperature above 21°C. When delute the medium, store it at room temperature for up to a month. When autoclavated, it should be at the following conditions: at 1.05 kg/cm2 (15 psi) and 121°C for 20 minutes. Plant preserve mixture is for reseach use only.
